105 Corporate Governance and Business Ethics Fostering Action on Climate Change Fostering Responsible Supply Chains FOSTERING AN INCLUSIVE WORKPLACE Charting the Path to Sustainable Growth GRI Index Arise IIP | Sustainability Report 2023 Education awareness program: Our forest team took the initiative to implement education support programs in nine villages of Gabon. A donation of EUR 41,443 was contributed to assist residents in realizing their full potential by granting access to high-quality education, aligning with the objectives of SDG 4. National Education Awareness Campaign 2023: Laham Chad participated in the 2023 national education awareness campaign by coordinating civil registration for residents of Logone Occidental, Logone Oriental, Mandoul, Moyen Chari, Salamat, Kanem, Lac, Borkou and Ouaddai. Arise donated EUR 3,154 for the successful completion of the campaign. School benches and tables donation: The initiative in Gabon aimed to provide sufficient benches and tables for all students in schools, in line with the objectives of SDG 9. A sum of EUR 17,744 was allocated towards this initiative. This program impacted 200 students ensuring they had the necessary furniture for their education. Community enterprise projects and asset procurement in GSEZ: This transformative initiative implemented within Gabon impacted residents of two villages and strategically addressed the thematic area of eradicating poverty, leaving a lasting impact SDG 15. A sum of EUR 16,712 was donated for this project’s implementation. Construction of community social amenities and infrastructure upgrade: In a significant stride towards fostering sustainable cities and communities, GSEZ spearheaded an initiative focusing on community social amenities and infrastructure upgrades in alignment with SDG11. This project implemented across six villages with a total investment of EUR 64,652 in SFIK, GAW, BORDAMUR, and JBG concessions, reflects our commitment to advancing localities, enhancing their infrastructures, and contributing to the overarching goal of building resilient and sustainable communities. Access to clean drinking water near CIAL: Aiming to address the fundamental need for clean and accessible water sources, this initiative directly impacted 6,075 beneficiaries across five villages. The vital initiative incurred a total cost of EUR 30,747. The implementation agency, ETs ART/PC and MBAIDADJE HYDRAULIQUE Service, played a key role in orchestrating the successful execution of this program. Through these efforts, we strive to make a meaningful and sustainable impact on the lives of the communities near the Complexe Industriel des Abattoirs du Logone (CIAL), emphasizing our dedication to enhancing access to clean drinking water in Chad SDG 6.
