These measures include: Avoidance: The first step in the mitigation hierarchy is to avoid or minimize impacts on biodiversity by selecting alternative project locations or designs that have fewer negative effects on ecosystems and species. Minimization: If avoidance is not possible, the next step is to minimize the impacts on biodiversity. This can be achieved through careful planning, design, and implementation of the project to reduce its footprint and disturbance to ecosystems. Restoration: Restoration measures involve restoring degraded habitats or ecosystems to their original or improved state. This can include activities such as reforestation, habitat restoration, and ecological rehabilitation.
