100 Fostering Sustainable Ecosystems Message from CEO Corporate Overview Corporate Governance and Business Ethics About the Report Arise IIP, recognize the efforts of our contractors and vendors and the role they play in our operations. To ensure workplace safety, we extended our health and safety programs to investors, contractors, vendors and other service providers, including consultants during the reporting period. We onboarded 285 new contractors in the reporting period, who were rigorously trained in our HSE requirements. Moreover, we introduced an HSE Manual for Contractors in this reporting period, to ensure all HSE requirements are adhered to by contractors and aligned with our Critical 06 strategy. The HSE manual contains EHS requirements for the investor for performing their work in a safe and responsible manner in our zone to prevent damage, injury, or loss to individuals, the environment, and the work, including materials and equipment incorporated into the Work or stored on-site or off-site. The manual outlines 17 major requirements from its investors and contractors including maintenance of social welfare conditions for their employees and workers, ensuring WASH principles, obtaining site clearances, deploying hazard identification and emergency response plans, reporting KPIs on HSE, and alignment to all Critical 06 principles, among others. In fact, the manual also outlines a penalization matrix of up to USD 330 per violation, for contractors failing to adhere to our HSE requirements. In conclusion, the contractor is to comply with all national and local OHS guidelines, OHS codes for HSE issues as well as Industry best practices such as ISO 45001: 2018 “Environmental, Health, and Safety General Guidelines” of IFC. The contractor and project team shall assume all the responsibilities and act in accordance with the requirements of the relevant legislation in the country. Health and Safety across our value chain
