40 Fostering Sustainable Ecosystems Message from CEO Corporate Overview Corporate Governance and Business Ethics About the Report In a time of climate anxiety, economic uncertainty, and wavering sustainability commitments, Arise IIP has chosen a different path - one of clarity, conviction, and collective responsibility. Since 2018, we have built our ESG journey on systems which are robust, evolving, and rooted in accountability. Our ESG strategy reflects this approach: it is datadriven, actionable, and aligned with Africa’s development needs. As we grew in 2024, we took meaningful steps to manage our impact. In Chad, we installed 500kW of solar capacity, and across Benin and Togo, we implemented high-efficiency air conditioning and LED lighting, reducing building energy use by 20–30%. Our textile operations in Benin now achieve zero liquid discharge, recycling nearly 75% of the water used, an important milestone as we scale industrial water efficiency. Our total water withdrawal in 2024 was lower than the previous year, thanks to optimized use in EDGE-certified buildings, which alone saved over 16,600 KL. Waste-to-value is no longer a concept, it’s a practice. We are expanding biochar initiatives and embedding circularity in how we manage resources and design systems. Biodiversity and nature-based solutions remain a core focus. We were awarded a $500,000 grant by the CAFI Secretariat to conduct feasibility studies for carbon and forestry projects in Gabon, DRC, and the Republic of Congo laying the groundwork for climate resilience and carbon sequestration across our zones. Our 2030 vision is clear and actionable, focused on reducing energy consumption by 20% and achieving net-zero value chain emissions by 2050. Operational excellence is a priority, with goals for high compliance scores and full vendor due diligence. In 2024, our efforts in workplace equity were recognized with the Africa Sustainable Futures Award, while FSC certification of over 900,000 hectares strengthened our commitment to biodiversity. Through the Arise Foundation, we are also scaling impact in skill development, education, climate resilience, and access to essential services. This chapter reflects the breadth of our climate work from energy and emissions to waste, water, and biodiversity. But more importantly, it reflects our mindset: that sustainability is not a side mission but the foundation of everything we build. I invite you to explore how we are turning climate ambition into operational reality and helping prove that Africa’s industrial future can be both sustainable and scalable. Sincerely, Bhavin Vyas Chief ESG Officer, Arise IIP Chief ESG Officer Message from
