The system integrates biological treatment, ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, and multi-effect evaporation, significantly minimizing our water footprint. The implementation of these systems has led to the complete recovery and reuse of wastewater and eliminated hazardous discharges into the local ecosystem. Additionally, the system has enhanced operational efficiency and resulted in long-term cost savings. This initiative supports circular economy models and fosters ecoindustrial innovation across West Africa, setting a precedent for sustainable manufacturing. The textile industry in Africa faces challenges related to water conservation, pollution control, and compliance with global environmental standards. Conventional textile production often results in excessive wastewater discharge, harming ecosystems and depleting freshwater resources. Our Benin textile manufacturing segment— which includes garment, home textiles, and knit units—was established in October 2024 and has achieved nearly 75% water recycling from the total water withdrawn at the SEZ. We achieved Zero Liquid Discharge in our textile operations in Benin by installing advanced Effluent Treatment Plants and Sewage Treatment Plants that completely treat and reuse wastewater, Through these comprehensive water management practices, we are not only meeting our operational needs but also contributing to sustainable water use across our value chain, ensuring that both our business and the communities in which we operate thrive responsibly.
